Commemorating the first box (of many) to be emptied. |
The first night was strange. Old houses can make a lot of noise - creaks and squeaks, water through pipes, rumbles, etc. It was unnerving the first few nights, but then I got used to them as normal sounds.
Another very weird and unexpected adjustment was getting used to walking on hardwood floors and not carpet. The first couple of days, my feet actually hurt! I guess I had to "toughen" them up.
Before I installed the temporary blinds, I put up curtains for privacy. |

Lately, my natural indecisiveness has been getting the best of me, but I am getting closer to choosing color schemes for every space. Currently, the only two rooms that are painted are the kitchen and the basement. I also painted my front door and decided on dining room and living room colors. If I can stick to the schedule I set for myself I should finish up this weekend.
Here is the process of me painting the door. All that detail made it difficult to get in the nooks and crannies, but I'm mostly pleased with how it turned out.
Taping the glass took the longest because of the arches. |
Also, remember that cast iron sink I removed during my kitchen renovation? You can now find it at the ReStore. I really hope it finds a good home.
I love shopping at this place, but donating is also cool because they pick up your stuff for free. |
